Support the Lead Clerk and Magistrate Judge in other duties, as requested.Generate reports and review cases for quality assurance.Monitor the Magistrate Clerk group email and Odyssey queue.Communicate via phone and email with various parties, including former inmates, jail staff, court staff, other county personnel, law enforcement, attorneys and the public.Interview inmates to answer questions, obtain signatures on forms and distribute issued court.During magistrate proceedings, document judge decisions and finalize paperwork and court orders.Utilizing legal and procedural guidelines, prepare and scan court documents for judge review prior to magistration.Verify accuracy of online inmate booking records compared to jail-provided inmate file paperwork.Must clear a background investigation and pass a post-offer, pre-employment physical. Must be willing to work most weekends and some holidays. Must be willing to take the constitutional oath of office required in Texas. Must possess and maintain a valid Texas Driver’s License with an acceptable driving record. Must possess sufficient skill to pass a typing test at the rate of 35 words per minute. A college degree or court-related clerical experience is preferred. This role is responsible for supporting the operations of the Magistrate Court, located within the Collin County Adult Detention Center.Ī GED or graduation from an accredited high school is required in addition to at least 1 year clerical experience. This position works some weekends and holidays and reports to the Magistrate Court Administrator. Collin County is seeking candidates for the position of full-time Magistrate Clerk to work 10 hours per day, 4 days a week on a 6:30am – 5:30pm schedule. ![]()
